LASER SAFETY

Class 1 Laser Product. Each gate contains a LiDAR sensor with an 850 nm infrared laser (VCSEL) that complies with IEC 60825-1. It is eye-safe under all normal conditions of operation — no special precautions are required for everyday use.

As with any optical device, do not stare directly into the sensor aperture with magnifying instruments (loupes, microscopes, or similar), and do not attempt to open, modify, or defeat the sensor housing. The laser is invisible; the absence of a visible beam does not mean the sensor is off.

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.

Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. If this equipment does cause interference to radio or television reception — which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on — you can try to correct it by reorienting or relocating the receiving antenna, increasing the separation between the equipment and receiver, or connecting the equipment to an outlet on a different circuit from the receiver.

BATTERY SAFETY

Each gate contains a built-in rechargeable lithium-polymer (LiPo) battery and charges over USB-C using any standard USB-C cable and power source.

• Do not puncture, crush, disassemble, or expose the gate to fire. There is a risk of fire or explosion if the battery is damaged or mishandled.
• Stop using a gate immediately if the enclosure swells, becomes hot to the touch, leaks, or gives off an odor, and contact us.
• Charge only with a standard USB-C source. Do not leave charging unattended for extended periods.
• Store and operate between 0 °C and 45 °C (32 °F–113 °F). Keep out of direct sun in a closed vehicle or other high-heat environments.
• Do not dispose of in household trash or fire. Recycle as electronic waste per your local regulations.

GENERAL USE

EqualSplit gates are designed for use on tracks, fields, and similar athletic surfaces. Keep the units dry — they are not waterproof; do not submerge them or use them in heavy rain. Keep the sensor aperture clean and unobstructed for accurate timing. Set gates on stable, level ground and seat the poles firmly into the connector so a unit can't tip over during use.

DISPOSAL & RECYCLING

At end of life, do not throw the gates in the trash. They contain electronics and a lithium battery and should be taken to an e-waste or battery recycling facility. Many electronics retailers and municipal programs accept these for free.
