Precision Sprint Timing
"Talent should not be limited by whether your school can afford the tools to develop it."
The Problem
Good coaching needs real numbers. Timing gates give you split data — how fast an athlete accelerates, where their top end is, how they compare week to week. Without that, you're guessing. Hand timing is off by a few tenths at best. That's not nothing. In sprinting, that's everything.
The schools that can afford the tools get the data. Everyone else makes do. We got tired of that being the way it works.
$350 – $1,500+ per unit, often with monthly subscription fees. Accessible only to elite and well-funded programs.
$79.99. No subscription. Two timing modes so you can measure what actually matters — acceleration splits and full speed profiles. Made for every athlete.
We donate units to underfunded schools and programs. Financial aid is real and we review every application. Apply for a free unit →

A portable, self-contained sprint timing system built on LiDAR sensing. Measures acceleration splits, top-end speed, and full sprint profiles with millisecond-level precision. USB-C rechargeable, 100m+ wireless range between two gates, custom 3D-printed enclosure. No subscription. Just data — with a companion mobile app on the way for saving and tracking results over time.
Start at gate one, finish at gate two. Get a clean split time — perfect for measuring reaction off the line or timed fly-ins.
Multi-split breakdown of your full sprint — see where you're accelerating, where you're hitting top end, and where you're losing it.
Oak Park, California — Est. 2026
EqualSplit started as a high school project in Oak Park, CA, and turned into something we actually believe in. Two student athletes who wanted better data, taught themselves the hardware, and built it. Now tested on real tracks, endorsed by an Olympic gold medalist, and getting better every week.
Our Journey
It started with a frustration. We were student athletes who knew what good timing data could do — and watched our school make do without it. So we started sketching. What would it actually take to build our own?

We taught ourselves everything — microcontrollers, LiDAR sensors, wireless communication. The first prototype was rough, but it worked. A real split time on a real track. That was enough to know we were onto something.
Custom PCB, refined firmware, a purpose-built 3D-printed enclosure. Two timing modes. 100m+ wireless range. Everything a coach needs, at a price any program can afford.

Mad scientists. Inspirational.
What We Stand For
Talent has no zip code. The tools to develop it shouldn't either. Every athlete deserves objective data — not just the ones at well-funded programs. That's the whole reason we built this.
We're student athletes from Oak Park who understood the problem firsthand. Every design decision comes from real coaches, real training, and real feedback from the track.
